Mick, it has been an honour to call you a friend for the last 40 years. A man of integrity, principle, and generosity, you could always be depended on. The years passed in a flash, but we had some great laughs along the way. I think about you every day and can’t believe that you’ve gone. Curry nights will never be the same again. A great loss… Hearing of Mick’s death from Charlie hit me like a blow from a heavy weight: breathless; dumbstruck and reeling. I still find it hard to comprehend. But whilst I was lucky to have Mick in my universe for over 40 years, I acknowledge Mick’s world was centred on and orbiting around Gill, Bridie and Kieran. Rita and I struggle to imagine the magnitude of your loss; having Mick torn out of your lives so suddenly is utterly cruel. And whilst it is understandable for such a seismic event to turn your world upside down, we truly hope you can all find peace in a world without Mick. I am lucky to have shared four decades with Mick and have fond memories of Mick as a friend, a footballer, a runner, a golfer, a housemate, a lover of music, a disco dancer and an all round great fella to have a beer with. It is indeed, a great loss. Our deepest sympathies to all of Mick’s family. Love Jon and Rita Arbon
