Haven't known you for long but it feels like a life time. Couldn't wish for a better mate. RIP

My dearest darling uncle.. so supportive even though you lived hours away from us ..we have shared so many jokes these last few years .. which more than made up for the time lost before that .. the memories as a child of my uncle malc turning up outside the house in the army truck full of handsome soldiers made many a green eye twinkle in the village .. you were funny handsome and kind ..and i will miss our catch ups ..and i will miss you dearly.. love from your favourite niece ( obviousley) our last joke together .. Im sure you and terry will be mischeif making somewhere .. fly high .. love you Danita xx

I first met Mal in 1971 when we were recruits at the Rifle Depot. He was a standout soldier even in those early days. Our career paths diverged until we served together in Minden in the mid 80's. By then, he was a highly competent WO2 and I was his boss...in rank only, because he knew my job better than I did but was too much of a professional to drop me in it! In spite of my best efforts to get into difficulty, Mal kept dragging me back from the edge...it almost became a sport. I knew he went on to become a respected specialist in Chemical and Biological Warfare which was obviously where his real talent and service to the nation was recognised. I am so sad that Mal is lost to his family just when he would have been looking forward to slowing down and enjoying grandchildren. I would have been happy to see him at the re-unions but will lift a glass to him on my own. I am very proud to have known him and to have soldiered with him. RIP Mal.

My sincere condolences to Maureen and family. Malc was nicest bloke anyone could meet and I was honoured to call him my friend. We had many a laughs on our holidays and he will be sadly missed but very much remembered. xx
